FIELD: production of highly active oxides of metals which are used for manufacture of high-strength and refractory ceramic items and abrasive materials; production of catalysts as pigments and fillers.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes electrochemical sedimentation of metal hydroxide in aqueous solution of inorganic salt followed by washing-off and heat treatment of gel thus obtained. Electrochemical sedimentation is carried out with electric current of up to 200 A at voltage at electrodes from 12 to 50 V under action of permanent magnetic field ensuring the rotary convection of electrolyte in the course of anode dissolving.
EFFECT: increased productivity and stability; intensification of heat exchange; avoidance of electrode passivation; increased specific surface of powder.
