FIELD: medicine, oncology.

SUBSTANCE: one should sample the material of surgically removed tumor to prepare the preparation for morphological analysis; one should detect follicular and papillary structures developed by tumor cells, detect the availability of epithelial proliferation, cellular atypia, cellular and nuclear polymorphism, optically "empty" nuclei, nuclear grooves and intranuclear cytoplasmatic inclusions, the presence and direction of the metastasing of tumor's invasive growth and, also, the availability of follicular structures and epithelial proliferation. One should detect the presence of connective-tissue capsule, the degree of cellular atypia and cellular and nuclear polymorphism - either single units or moderate degree, detect average values of external and internal follicular diameters, average value of relative area of the vessels, average value of relative area of fibrosis. Depending upon the data obtained it is necessary to carry out differential diagnostics of follicular adenoma, follicular atypical adenoma, follicular cancer and follicular variant of papillary thyroid cancer. The innovation enables to increase objectivity of diagnostics.

EFFECT: higher efficiency and accuracy of diagnostics.
