FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices designed for suppression of aerodynamic noises of pneumatic equipment and exhaust systems of compressed gas or air. Proposed noise silencer contains intake branch pipe and housing made of porous material and rigidly connected with intake branch pipe. Housing is made in form of truncated cone shell whose larger base is connected with end face of intake branch pipe by threaded joint, and smaller base in made in form of solid disk whose porosity is less than porosity of truncated cone shell. Ratio of height of housing B to diameter D of intake branch pipe is within the range of optimum values B/D=2.0-5.0, and ratio of diameter D of larger base of truncated cone shell to diameter "d" of smaller base is within the range of optimum values D/d=3.0-5.5, and ratio of thickness "b" of shell porous material to height of housing B is within the range of optimum values b/B=0.05-0.2.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of noise suppression.
