FIELD: mechanical engineering, possible use for electrochemical processing of large-dimensional templates of rotation body type, such as bandages for railroad wheels.

SUBSTANCE: method includes processing template surface under direct current with feeding of electrolyte into inter-electrode space and usage of template as anode, and as cathode - electrode-tool is used, while electrode-tool in form of cams is used, on non-working surface of each of which non-conductive element is present in form of insert, projecting beyond working surface of cam for value of minimal inter-electrode space and capable of contact during processing with processed template surface for removing oxide films, while inter-electrode space between working surface of each cam and processed surface is variable and has minimum value near non-conductive inserts and maximum value at periphery of working surface of each cam.

EFFECT: increased processing productivity due to removal of processing product from inter-electrode space and removal of oxide film from processed surface without interruption of processing process and change of processing modes.
