FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrochemical machining of current-conducting materials to be used in production of dies, molds and other complex shape parts in finishing jobs. Method of electrochemical machining with electrode-tool vibration comprises feed of square microsecond current pulses timed with maximum approach of electrode-tool and electrode-workpiece. Machining is carried out with pulse duration t=10-500 mcs, duration of pulse leading and trailing edges tf=1-5 mcs, voltage amplitude Ua=10-100 V, and amplitude current density j = 100 - 10000 A/cm2. Note here that trailing edge of every pulse complies with maximum conductivity of electrode gap.
EFFECT: minimum surface roughness in finishing.
