FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method may be used for machining components of compressors and gas turbines made from refractory titanium alloys and other difficult-to-machine materials. Workpiece is connected to positive poles of two poser supplies. Workpiece is machined on both sides by two galvanically-isolated electrodes. Each said electrodes is connected with negative pole of appropriate power supply and arranged opposite appropriate machined surface. Prior to machining, machining allowance is defined for every surface. Thereafter, electrodes are fed at the rate in proportion to allowances. Set of pulses are fed from appropriate power supplies to every electrode and workpiece. Said pulses are fed in turns and feature duration selected to ensure equality of currents passed through both machined surfaces.
EFFECT: better distribution of hydraulic forces and temperatures.
