FIELD: precious elements-containing waste processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of processing wastes containing precious elements or presenting environmental danger and can be employed as indicated above. Method comprises oxidation of uranium-contaminated metallic molybdenum waste with either pure oxygen or air oxygen at 750-800°C and removal of uranium oxides by via sublimation at temperature 700-800°C, residual pressure 104-105 Pa and linear air or inert gas stream velocity over substance being sublimated 0.1-1 m/min. Resulting molybdenum trioxide is then reduced into metal.
EFFECT: reduced oxidation and sublimation time, reduced power consumption, and simplified sublimation operation.
