FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce molybdenum trioxide with high degree of purity, used in synthesis of tellurite glass which has potential for use in making active and passive elements of fibre and integrated infrared optics. Initial molybdenum trioxide is calcined in a vacuum at 550-580°C. The calcined product is purified through evaporation in sublimation mode in a vacuum at temperature 690-780°C. The purified product is cooled on a substrate at temperature 500°-550°C.
EFFECT: higher purity of molybdenum trioxide from metal impurities to the level less than 10-5 wt %, and high output of molybdenum trioxide (80-85%).
