FIELD: electrical engineering; protection of high-voltage equipment insulation against atmospheric and switching voltage surges.
SUBSTANCE: proposed surge limiter has composite-material ground insulation tube lined with tracking-shielding ribs installed on its external cylindrical surface reinforced by terminators, at least one stack of spring-compressed coaxially joined varistor disks which is disposed between these ribs within ground-insulation tube and connected through shunt to upper terminator; space between internal cylindrical surface of ground insulation tube and stack is filled with heat-conducting insulating compound; terminator is joined to ground-insulation tube with aid of at least one flexible key installed through entry hole in keyway formed by ground insulation tube slot and terminator one; flexible key axis lies in plane perpendicular to ground insulation tube axis; tangent plane to flexible key axis is parallel to ground insulation tube axis.
EFFECT: enhanced explosion safety of surge limiter due to joining terminator and ground insulation tube with aid of flexible key.
