FIELD: metallurgy; furnaces for annealing and metallization of iron ore materials.
SUBSTANCE: upper part of furnace is made in form of truncated cone with inner stepped lining and with upper loading unit. Unloading unit is located in tapered bottom of lower part of furnace. Gas distributing unit located in plane of larger base of cone consists of tubes located radially and interconnected together; open end sections of these tubes are located over external perimeter of furnace body in plane of circular gas manifold connected with plasma chemical gas producer. Each radial tube is provided with nozzles on side of unloading unit. Branch pipes located above and below the plane of gas distributing unit are directed to center of furnace at angle relative to its longitudinal axis towards unloading unit. According to second version, furnace is provided with lined branch pipe whose upper end face is closed; it is mounted coaxially relative to vertical axis of furnace at point of interconnection of radial tubes. Inner cavities of radial tubes and branch pipes are connected together. Vertical branch pipe is provided with nozzles spaced apart over perimeter and in height.
EFFECT: increased surface of interaction of reducing gas and burden at high integral thermal load; shaft furnaces with considerable cross sectional area of shaft.
