FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines; diesel engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed nozzle for injection of fuel at no-drain fuel feed with built-in diagnosing devices has body, spring, pusher, spacer, nozzle spray tip with shutoff needle, ball-type valve installed in spacer. Ring groove is made on surface of spacer adjoining spray tip. Said groove connects channel delivering fuel to spray tip with space of nozzle body through ball-type valve. Magnetically-controlled sealed-contact reed relay is installed additionally in spacer and permanent magnet which is essentially ball of valve. Sealed-contact reed relay is included into electric circuit together with dc current source and pilot lamp. Diaphragm with glued on strain-gauge transducer is installed in fuel feed channel of nozzle. Transducer is connected by electric circuit with dc current source, signal amplifier and oscillograph.
EFFECT: possibility of diagnosing combined operation of high-pressure fuel pump and nozzle, checking serviceability of ball-type valve on operating diesel engine under different operating conditions.
