SUBSTANCE: method for forming powder blank of metal cutting tool having opening, at least one recess and at least one passage connecting said opening at least with one recess comprises steps of placing in die upper punch with front end having at least one first protruding member; lower punch having front end and at least one second protruding member; pouring metal powder between them. Pressing is realized due to motion of upper and lower punches one to other until one first protruding member touches at least one second protruding member at least in one zone. Opening is restricted by space where at least one second protruding member is arranged between upper and lower punches. At least one passage is formed at least in one portion of contour.
EFFECT: shortened time period of manufacturing process.
