CUTTING TOOL WITH SELF-CLAMPING CUTTER HEAD Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC B23B51/00

Abstract RU 2507037 C2

FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: cutting tool has rotational axis, shank and external lock and replaceable self-clamping cutter head with internal lock that has resilient slot. Said replaceable self-clamping cutter head is fitted with interference at shank front end, between said internal and external locks. Cross-section profile comprise mating arched sectors in every cross-section of cutting tool made perpendicular to rotational axis through abutment between shank and head. Note here that cutter head comprises integrated cutting part and connection part. Connection part includes internal lock. Resilient slot separates internal lock into two internal locking segments each including larger locking wall that makes peripheral surface limited by resilient slot.

EFFECT: reliable clamping, ease of fitting in place and detaching.
