FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: cutting plate comprises end surfaces arranged oppositely, peripheral side surface, and peripheral edge that is defined by the intersection of each end surface and peripheral side surface. Each of end surfaces has four corners: two lowered corners and two elevated corners. The lowered corners are arranged closer to the mid plane than the elevated corners. Each end surface has at least one bearing member provided with the projecting bearing surface. The milling cutter comprises at least one cutting plate and housing provided with at least one socket bounded by the side and back wall arranged transverse to its base. The back wall is convex and cooperates with the concave surface of the cutting plate.
EFFECT: improved design.
