FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: cutting plate is meant for being installed on fraise and has two opposite face surfaces squarely shaped from the top view, the peripheral lateral surface, which includes two opposite main lateral surfaces in the form of a parallelogram, two opposite auxiliary lateral surfaces, angular lateral surfaces, and the peripheral edge formed at the intersection of each face surface and a peripheral lateral surface. In this case two sections of each peripheral edge form cutting edges. For an improvement in the geometry of the cutter and increase in number of cutting edges of a plate both face surfaces have a 180° rotary symmetry around the first axis passing through them, both main lateral surfaces have a 180° rotary symmetry around the second axis passing through them, perpendicular to the first axis, both auxiliary lateral surfaces have 180° rotary symmetry around the third axis passing through them, perpendicular to the first and the second axis. Thus each face surface has two diagonally opposite lowered corners and two diagonally opposite elevated corners. On each face surface is placed a supporting element having a support surface in each cross-section section of a cutting plate, the support surface of the given face surface is closer to the median plane, than the front part of one of the main cutting edges of this face surface. The cutter contains, at least one cutting plate and a case having, at least, one socket, limited by the adjacent lateral and back walls located in main cross-section to the base. For an improvement in the geometry of installation of the plate, the back wall is made mainly convex, the lateral wall is executed with the axial basing surface intended for interaction with the auxiliary lateral surface of the cutting plate, the rear wall is executed with two tangential basing surfaces which jut out, located on the different sides from its central section. The first of them is intended for interaction with the first tangential base located on the base surface of the cutting plate. The second of two tangential base surfaces is intended for interaction with the second tangential base located on the base of the plate.
EFFECT: convenience in application and increase of operational reliability.
