FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: cutting plate includes two opposite end surfaces, two opposite main side surfaces having mainly isosceles trapezoidal shape on the front side views of the cutting plate. Each end surface has four angles, two opposite diagonal elevated angles and two opposite diagonal submerged angles locating closer to the middle plane of the cutting plate. The support surface is provided for each end surface. The milling tool includes, at least, one above described cutting plate and body with, at least, one seating being limited by adjoining side and rear walls located mainly crosswise to the basis. Besides, the area wall is made convex with axial locating surface intended for interacting with auxiliary side surface of the cutting plate. The rear wall is made up from two tangential locating surfaces located at different sides from the central part in order to interact with tangential support surfaces located on the support surface of cutting plate.
EFFECT: widening technical possibilities due to possible operation in right and left rotation directions.
