FIELD: image forming devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technique for observing stereo images of three-dimensional scenes with full-screen resolution from each angle without using stereo glasses. Technical result is achieved by increasing the contrast of separation of the perspective images due to the mutual compensation of the residual effects of birefringence and optical activity in the liquid crystal layers of the matrix polarization image encoder and the polarization-decoding binocular filter. This provides a wide (limited only by the aperture of the polarization-decoding filter) observation area of the stereo image due to the possibility of shifting the vertical boundary between the two separation zones in synchronism with the displacement of the centers of the observation windows (centers of the pupils of the observer's eyes).
EFFECT: improving the quality of stereo.
