FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: each of the optical liquid crystal shutters of stereoscopic glasses is provided with a non-polaroid liquid crystal polarisation converter which, in case of light flux of an image with different directions of the linear polarisation vector, changes its direction to match the direction of the axis of the input polariser of the optical liquid crystal shutter. Versions of the non-polaroid achromatic liquid crystal polarisation converter are helically coiled nematic liquid crystal structures or combinations of quarter-wave plates with phase-shift liquid crystal structures.
EFFECT: high value of optical transmission of light flux of an image regardless of its polarisation state.
