SUBSTANCE: invention relates to stereo video technology and can be used for designing stereoscopic television sets and monitors with viewing stereo images without glasses with retention of the possibility of viewing monoscopic images. The technical outcome is achieved due to that, the method and device use devices for elliptical polarisation of light flux with space-periodic polarisation modulation, parametres of which are determined using inverse trigonometric functions like arctan, arcctan, arccos, arcsin (or their combinations) from algebraic relationships between squares of amplitude of signals of time-base deflection of images, which allows for selecting left and right aspect images in left and right observation zones using a space-periodic polarisation selector.
EFFECT: wider functional capabilities due to realisation of viewing stereo images without glasses.
