FIELD: powder metallurgy, namely processes for making briquettes of charge materials such as titanium alloys containing waste materials formed in process of mechanical working of products.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of pouring charge by batches into cone die; pressing article and pulling it through die by means of pusher pad with extrusion ram for one pass; before starting pressing of next briquette, placing dividing pad with shaped surface between poured batch of charge and pusher pad or between pressed briquette and poured batch of charge. Such diving pad allows to press central and peripheral portions of briquette at deformation degree exceeding that of remaining volume of briquette and to provide equal strength of the whole volume of briquette. Then dividing pad is removed for secondary usage.

EFFECT: enhanced quality of produced briquettes.
