FIELD: medical diagnostics methods.

SUBSTANCE: erythrocyte suspension is repetitively passed through closed circuit with narrow clearance and erythrocyte deformability index is recorded. Reading is made immediately after introduction of suspension into circuit and some time, τ, later, after which coefficient of shear stability of red blood cells η is calculated from formula: η=τ/(ε0τ), wherein εo is erythrocyte deformability index value read immediately after introduction of suspension into circuit, ετ deformability index value read some time, τ, later, and τ is time during which deformability index of healthy man erythrocytes remains unchanged. Method is applicable in resuscitation, cardiovascular surgery, therapeutical, traumatizing, and catastrophe medicine departments.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of determining individual resistance of red blood cells against mechanical actions and enabled determination of degree of sub-hemolytic traumatizing of red blood cells in cases of various disorders in blood microcirculation system and/or use of extracorporal blood circulation apparatuses.
