FIELD: magnetic field recording means; instrumentation engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed magnetic field sensor distinguished by S-shaped static volt-oersted characteristic and designed for use in tachometers, displacement transducers, DC and AC magnetic field metering devices has thin-film magnetoresistive strips with weak-saturation axes connected into bridge circuit. Disposed close to these strips is even number of midget magnets, half of them having their saturation axes opposing those of other half of midget magnets and all of them being perpendicular to weak-saturation axes of strips which are directed lengthwise of them. Midget magnets produce magnetic fields in strip planes.
EFFECT: reduced power requirement.
