FIELD: measuring technique.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises setting the specimen for permitting forward motion in the horizontal plane and measuring probe for permitting angular motion in the vertical plane, loading the measuring probe that is in a contact with the surface of the specimen at a single point, and moving the specimen together with the probe until their mutual shift in two mutually opposite directions. The rest friction coefficient is determined from the formula proposed.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability.
