FIELD: devices and methods for processing video data, in particular, methods and devices for scaling dynamic video-image, possible use in high definition television sets.
SUBSTANCE: the device comprises three memory buffers, movement evaluation block, edge detector, interpolation method adapter, two multiplexers, time-space interpolator, spatial interpolator and block for creating a resulting frame. The method includes receiving the original low resolution video image, consisting of a set of original frames; for each frame of the original low resolution video image: movement between frames is determined in form of vector field, movement between frames is interpolated in form of vector field; image edge map in the frame is calculated; high definition frame is composed of pixels from a frame; for each current frame pixel: movement detection precision is set which is sufficient for application of time-space interpolation, and also lower and upper threshold values of edge intensity; movement and edges of the current pixel are evaluated.
EFFECT: improved quality of dynamic video image.
