FIELD: electric engineering, possible use for heating industrial and inhabited premises, and also in devices for heating gaseous, liquid, free-flowing and monolithic substances.

SUBSTANCE: in an electric heating unit made of composite material on basis of carbon in form of electric heating element with through channels of cellular structure and provided with current feeds, positioned on its opposite sides, in accordance to the invention, the current feed is made in form of contact group containing current distributor made of carbon material and metallic contact, positioned in the groove between current distributor and electric heating element, interconnected by electro-conductive high temperature glue. Through channels in the cross-section are made in hexahedral shape. The current distributor is made in form of a plate of carbon material or in form of graphitic foil of "Graphlex" type, or carbon fabric, and the metallic contact - in form of multiple-strand wire or screw rod. The groove with the metallic contact is filled with electro-conductive high temperature glue.

EFFECT: increased heat exchange, increased reliability of current feed, increased efficiency of heat exchange due to evenness of heating of heating unit walls during operation, increased mechanical strength of the device.
