FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves determining pulse wave propagation speed in rest during nitroglycerin test. When carrying out nitroglycerin test, pulse wave propagation speed is determined on carotid-radial zone. Then, the testee sublingually takes nitroglycerin at a dose of 500 mcg. Pulse wave speed is determined 2 and 5 min later after having taken nitroglycerin dose. Pulse wave speed reduction remains practically unchanged during the whole study in normal cases. Pulse wave speed changes are of the like pattern but of less duration in time in cardiac ischemia distance cases, less than 5 min long in particular.

EFFECT: enabled functional test as routine clinical examination without high cost equipment and invasive interventions being applied.
