FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with treating pterygium degree II. On separating the pterygium against the surface of the eye ball one should apply photosensitizing gel (PS gel) onto the bed developed. It is necessary to apply PS gel that contains 0.1% PS of chlorine group to keep it for the period for about 10-15 min, then gel residues should be removed. One should irradiate the bed with laser radiation with fields at wave length that corresponds to the maximum of Ps absorption of light radiation, at overlapping the adjacent fields for 5% of its area. Corneal part of the bed should be irradiated at energy density of about 40-60 J/sq. cm, and limbic and scleral part of the bed - at energy density of about 80-100 J/sq. cm. The innovation enables to avoid coarse cicatrisation in operational area and the onset of pterygium relapses.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy.
