FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with introducing intravenously a photosensitizing agent (PS) of chlorine group at the dosage of 1.0-1.5 mg/kg. After 10-15 min on finishing PS introduction one should irradiate the whole surface of pterygium with laser radiation with fields at wave length that corresponds to the maximum of PS absorption of light radiation, at overlapping the adjacent fields for 5% the area, at energy density of about 100-120 J/sq. cm. In 2 wk one should separate the pterygium against the surface of eye ball to apply onto the developed bed photosensitizing gel (PS gel) that contains 0.1% PS of chlorine group to be kept for about 10-15 min. The residues of gel should be removed to carry out irradiation of the bed with laser radiation with fields at wave length that corresponds to the maximum of PS absorption of light radiation at overlapping the adjacent fields by 5 % area. Corneal part of the bed should be irradiated at energy density ranged 40-60 J/sq. cm, limbic and scleral ones - at energy density of about 80-100 J/sq. cm. The innovation enables to prevent the relapses of pterygium, moreover, it avoids coarse cicatrisation in operational area.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy.
