FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: contact irradiation of eye tissues in photodynamic therapy at the stage of recurrent pterygium treatment is ensured by surgical removal of pterygium is followed with application of a photosensitiser on the formed bed. The edge of a nozzle fixed on a light guide is coated with a staining agent. After exposition of the photosensitiser, the nozzle is positioned on prelimbic zone. Contact laser irradiation is carried out with fields of diametre 3 mm with overlapping the adjacent fields by 15-20% of the area. Herewith the nozzle is moved consistently within formed after surgical removal of the bed pterygium.

EFFECT: limited area of one laser light spot within required dimensions, precise visualisation of the irradiated sites, maintained constant distance between end face of the light guide to the irradiated surface in procedure, limited laser light areas within desired zone, prevented postoperative recurrence of pterygium.
