FIELD: metallurgy; processing of chromium- and nickel-containing materials by reducing melting in electric furnace.
SUBSTANCE: first, chromium ore is molten in presence of flux and chromium-containing oxide melt thus obtained is treated by injection of dust-like waste of nickel matte production process at ratio of (0.9-1.8):1 of chromium ore mass and melt is subjected to de-sulfurization.
EFFECT: possibility of replacing expensive coke breeze with low-priced carbon-containing reductant.
