FIELD: application of coats on continuously-cast metal blanks.
SUBSTANCE: blank (1) dipped in melt is vertically passed through reservoir (3) filled with molten metal (2) of coat and through guide passage (4) located in front of it; electromagnetic inductor (5) located in zone of guide passage (4) is used for holding metal (2) of coat in reservoir (3) by means of traveling electromagnetic field, thus forming induced currents in metal (2) of coat which form electromagnetic force together with traveling electromagnetic field; inductor (5) has at least two main coils (6) successively located in direction (N) of motion of blank (1) and at least two correcting coils (7) used for control of position of blank (1) in guide passage (4) in direction (N) which is orthogonal relative to surface of blank (1) which are also located successively in direction (N) of motion of blank (1). For holding the metal strip in the middle of guide passage, some corrective coils (7) if viewed in direction (X) of motion of blank (1) are located perpendicularly relative to direction (X) of motion and perpendicularly relative to direction (N) which is orthogonal relative to surface of blank (1) at shift relative to each other.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
