COMBINATION-TYPE NOISE SILENCER Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC F01N1/00 

FIELD: mechanical engineering; noise silencing facilities.

SUBSTANCE: proposed combination-type noise silencer has housing and intake member. Housing is made square or round in cross section. Intake member is made in form of three filters connected by t-piece and coupled with air intake pipe, inner diameter d₂, terminating in expansion chamber limited by plates. Lower plate is made with inclination and is provided with condensate drain pipe built into housing. Bushing is fitted in lower plate of expansion chamber to get into reactive silencing chamber, diameter d₃ in cross section, which is installed on lower plate of housing and is coupled with plate by bushing to provide outlet from reactive silencing chamber into damping chamber. Reactive silencing chamber is lined over entire volume with aluminum sheets, thickness 0.5-0.6 mm. cotton-wool shaft is placed over perimeter of sheets between sheets and plates forming chamber. Reactive silencing chamber is connected by throttling bushing with cylindrical active silencer being essentially cylinder, height h, inner diameter d1 and outer diameter d coupled through partition with at least two outlet holes arranged at distance b from each other.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of noise silencing owing to exclusion of "beam effect" and penetration of sound waves both along axis of silencer and through its two partition thanks to placing sound-absorbing elements on way of propagation of sound waves.
