FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed exhaust muffler of internal combustion engine contains housing divided into noise damping chambers by means of at least two perforated separating members, and intake and exhaust branch pipes. Closing part of intake branch pipe is arranged inside housing and is made diverging. Separating members are made in form of truncated coned with common small base orientated towards exhaust branch pipe. Housing is lined from inside with layers of sound-absorbing material on base of aluminum-bearing alloys with subsequent filling with titanium hydride or air, density within 0.5 and 0.9 kg/cu.m featuring the following strength characteristics: compression strength within 5 and 10 MPa, bending strength within 10 and 20 MPa.
EFFECT: enlarged range of noise damping.
