FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: automatic gear variator comprises housing (1), driving shaft (2), loading shaft (13), and axially aligned inner (5) and outer (8) hubs. Inner hub (5) is embraced by the closed elliptic groove (6) of semi-round cross-section and freely mounted on driving shaft (2). Outer hub (8) has semi-round grooves (9) arranged along the generatrices of the setting opening and corona pinion (11) that permanently engages parasite pinion (12) mounted in housing (1). Loading shaft (13) represents the axial extension of the opposite face of the outer hub. Driving shaft (2) comprises central gear (3) for permitting axial movement along the slots and independent connection with the inner hub (5) and parasite pinion (12).
