FIELD: processes for enhancing operational characteristics of rolled pieces.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of treating rolled piece by ultrasound and magnetic field for further reduction of it. Ultrasonic oscillations with frequency up to MHz are continuously applied onto metal and then it is treated in stable magnetic field or in pulse magnetic field with induction up to 70 Tl. Apparatus includes vibrators mounted in front of rolling apparatuses, for example magnetostrictive vibrators and(or) inductors connected to HF generator and electromagnets and(or) permanent magnets arranged at least at one side over rolled piece surface with possibility of changing their inclination angle relative to ultrasonic oscillation sources and deformation zone.
EFFECT: improved ductility of metal without reducing its limit strength, yield limit and corrosion resistance due to lowered number of flaws in metal.
