FIELD: processes and equipment for cleaning rolled bars, namely large-diameter bars by descaling them with use of abrasive powders.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes housing, working chamber, powder circulation system, pistons, piston drive units, electromagnets and vibrators for generating ultrasound oscillations. Possibility for horizontal feed of rolled piece to chamber, simplified feed and discharge of powder, effective compression of powder is achieved due to arranging vibrators, for example magnetostrictive ones outside working chamber. Lengthwise axes of vibrators are parallel to horizontal axis of working chamber. Vibrators are mounted with possibility of motion together with pistons. Concentrators of vibrators are rigidly joined with wave-guides in the form of rods rigidly joined with pistons and arranged in working chamber in parallel to its axis in zone of maximum amplitude of lengthwise oscillations. Ends of pistons at side of cleaned rolled piece are tapered. Pistons are rigidly joined with free ends of wave-guides; distance between horizontal axes of working chamber and vibrators is multiple to 1/2 of length of ultrasound wave. Working chamber has cross like shape with possibility of powder compression around surface of rolled piece by means of pistons along its one axis and with possibility of feeding rolled piece along its other axis. Branch pipes for feeding and discharging powder are arranged in zone of powder compression.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of cleaning rolled bars.
