METHOD FOR EVALUATING ANISOTROPY OF SPREADING-APART PROPERTY OF THREADS IN SEAMS Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC G01N33/36 

FIELD: textile industry, in particular, evaluation of anisotropy of spreading-apart property of threads in seam on textile materials.

SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing and marking samples; retaining by means of clamps; loading; measuring spreading-apart value and changes in linear sizes of sample. Sample is made as chamomile-shaped member formed by stitching of eight "petals" in the form of 50-100 mm sized strips cut at different angles to warp threads onto round sample having diameter of 150 mm and provided with markings oriented in different directions (α). Method further involves successively fixing sample by means of clamp in each direction after locating thereof on cylindrical cross-piece covered with material; after hanging of weight to clamp, measuring offset of threads from seam and changing of linear sizes; judging anisotropy of spreading-apart property and changing of linear sizes by changing of thread spreading-apart property in seam and changing of linear sizes depending on direction (α).

EFFECT: increased efficiency in evaluation of spreading-apart property of threads in seams in different cutting directions and increased precision of information dealing with linear sizes of materials upon occurrence of spreading in seams.
