METHOD OF MEASURING ANYSOTROPY OF DRAPABILITY Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: test engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method can be used for measuring textile materials for torsion. Method concludes preparation and marking of samples, fixation and measurement of projection which is used for calculation of drapability. Sample is made in form of circle with diameter of 400+-1 m to have direction marks at different directions α. Sample is subject to fixation in turn for any direction inside vertical clamp attached to reference surface. Maximal projection of sample on reference surface Aα is measured as well as number of folds Nα and depth of folds Bα at level of projection. Anisotropy of drapability is judged from change in factors of drapability - drapability coefficient Dα, depth of folds Bα and number of folds Nα depending on direction α. Samples are marked at directions α at angles of 0, 15, 30, 60, 75,90…345є to longitudinal direction. Real process of forming of folds under influence of self-weight at reference parts of clothes is modeled.

EFFECT: reduced labor input; reduced material usage of material; widened truth of data.
