METHOD FOR EVALUATING A PATIENT'S STATE AND APPLIANCE FOR IMPLEMENTING THIS METHOD Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B3/10 A61B3/14

Abstract RU 2311113 C1

FIELD: medicine, surgery, traumatology, resuscitation, intensive therapy, medicinal optics.

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with the ways of predicting a patient's state, a quick-test diagnostics, among them, that applies instrumental survey and analysis of blood microcirculation in the vessels of eyeball's conjunctiva. As informative morphometric values it is useful to apply total specific length of capillaries, specific length of the smallest capillaries and specific length of large vessels. In case of decreased total specific length of capillaries by not less than 10% and/or specific length of the smallest capillaries by not less than 20% and/or increased specific length of large vessels by 150-160% against the value of mean values in norm being equal correspondingly to 6.7; 5.3 and 0.3 it is possible to conclude upon the presence of pathological process in a patient's body. According to the dynamics of alteration of these data one should predict the further flow of the process. The method should be implemented due to applying an appliance consisted of a high-rate video camera at the body of which there are two super-bright light diodes at the angle of about 20-30° against optic axis of a picture transfer system. Video camera is connected with blocks of control, registration and analysis of the obtained pictures realized based upon an apparatus-software complex upon a computer basis at Pentium 2000 processor supplied with USB2 interface. The time for investigation corresponds to about 1-2 min. The suggested appliance enables to fulfill a survey of a patient's ocular conjunctiva both in sitting and lying positions. The innovation, also, enables to predict the development of the disease and correct it till the appearance of clinical signs of deterioration.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of evaluation.
