FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: process involves thoroughly mixing granulated sugar with dry extract of kelp in the form of powder with dispersity 0.2 mm until homogenous mass is obtained. Dry extract is obtained is obtained through drying liquid extract of kelp to moisture content no higher than 15%. Liquid extract, in turn, is obtained by water extraction of kelp at solids-to-water ratio between 1:5 and 1:30 at 80-90°C followed by filtration and addition of 1-40% aqueous hydrogen peroxide in amount of 0.01-5.0 mL per 1 L extract, said kelp having been preliminarily broken to particle size below 5 cm.
EFFECT: enabled production of granulated sugar containing iodine compounds, essential amino acids, and trace minerals.
