FIELD: methods for optical marking of products with following identification of marking to protect from forgery.
SUBSTANCE: selection of optical mark is performed from a number of non-repeating optically anisotropic elements with random spatial distribution of irregularities which can not be discerned by naked eye. A light beam is directed at selected mark, by means of polarization device, spatially modulated distribution of radiation intensity of working spectral range is formed, stipulated by presence of aforementioned visually indiscernible irregularities of mark, after that aforementioned distribution of radiation intensity is read and read information is stored in database as main product code.
EFFECT: increased degree of forgery protection in a product with substantial reduction of requirements to volume of database required for identification of products.
