FIELD: object identification system.
SUBSTANCE: system for identifying an object based on an optical element relates to the field of means used to identify and protect objects from illegal copying. Objective is achieved in an object identification system based on an optical element, which includes an optical label associated physically and in a database with a labeled object, optical mark includes an optical element with unique refractive properties and a light beam source, fixed in the optical mark relative to each other in a position providing the passage of the light beam through the optical element, with possibility of light beam output formed by refracted optical element by light beam, beyond optical mark, with subsequent identification of the optical mark in the database by identifying a unique refractive image occurring on the surface located in the direction of propagation of the light beam formed by the refracted optical element by the light beam, with further demonstration to user of information available in database on object associated with said optical mark.
EFFECT: enabling the consumer to provide means of self-checking authenticity of said objects.
