FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for optical marking of articles with the subsequent identification of the mark in order to protect from forgery, and can be used for the copy-protection of bank documents, particularly credit cards and identification documents, in computer engineering for the protection of databases from unauthorised access, for the certification of artwork in order to prevent forgery, for the counterfeit protection of goods made of a wide variety of materials and for protecting paper documents from forgery. The identification mark comprises a set of randomly distributed particles which are attached to an article in the form of a plate which is moulded from a powder material with a refraction index greater than that of quartz.
EFFECT: high reliability of integrity during use.
