FIELD: geophysical research.

SUBSTANCE: invention prevents effects of alternating wave speed in the water. On basis of separate analysis stage for all corrections, values of vertical time errors resulting from wave speed changes in the water, are considered known, and also run times to lower boundary of water at zero proximity. Analogically, speeds of wave in the water are considered known. Aforementioned time errors and speeds of wave in the water are connected. Run times to lower water boundary at zero proximity are also considered known. On basis of that information and randomly determined "ideal" speed of wave in the water it is possible to compute observed wave speed in the water in comparison with the "ideal" case. Only the angle of beam trajectory passing through water layer is the required additional information. Time and proximity dependant correction may be derived for each selection of seismic data before correction during normal time increment.

EFFECT: solved problems of correction of seismic data, which occur during collection of data under sea conditions as a result of alternating wave speeds in the water.
