FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: claimed method (in two versions) prevents registration of multiple surface reflection entries in seismic records. Method for multiple reflection waves prediction for multiple tracks in seismic data record involves selection of target section line; selection of entrance section line within the range of target section line aperture; selection of one or several points on line positioned at double distance from target section line to entrance section line, the point corresponding to potential point of descending multiple reflection wave from surface at record track; drawing longitudinal line of potential multiple reflection waves for track corresponding to one or several line points; repetition of the procedures for each entrance section line within the target section line aperture to form and array of multiple potential waves reflected from surface for a track corresponding to each entrance section line within the aperture; obtaining total array of potential multiple reflection waves corresponding to each entrance section line within the aperture to obtain multiple reflection wave for the track; and storing multiple reflection wave for the track.

EFFECT: efficient method for damping effect of multiple waves reflected from surface in sea seismic channel.
