FIELD: radio engineering; devices for matching transmission lines having different wave impedances.
SUBSTANCE: proposed small-size wave-impedance transformer has even number of cascade-connected transmission-line sections of two wave impedance values ρ0 and ρ0R equal to wave impedances of transmission lines being matched. Length of first transmission-line section equals that of last one; length of second one equals that of last but one section, etc. Stubs are connected at wave-impedance transformer input and output. Short-circuited stub having wave impedance ρs.c. is parallel-connected at output. Open-circuit stub having wave impedance ρo.c. is series-connected at output. Stubs are equal in length and their wave impedances are interrelated with wave impedances of transmission lines being matched by equation ρs.c. ρo.c. =ρ0 2R.
EFFECT: enlarged operating frequency band, reduced length of wave-impedance transformer.
