FIELD: quantum electronics, in particular, constructions of pulsed gas nitrogen lasers with a pumping of longitudinal pulsed discharge.

SUBSTANCE: the nitrogen laser has an active element containing dielectric plates, in which through holes are made; cathode and anode, resonator formed by mirrors, and a device for forming of high-voltage pumping pulses. The arrangement of the plates, holes and slot provides for forming of a U-shaped discharge channel, which considerably reduces the inductance of the discharge circuit.

EFFECT: enhanced pumping efficiency of gas laser with a longitudinal discharge and enhanced power characteristics of pulsed laser emission.
