FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves determining general and ionized calcium and inorganic phosphorus in blood plasma or in daily urine with individual indices K1=[general calcium : inorganic phosphorus] and K2=[ionized calcium : inorganic phosphorus] being next calculated. Corresponding indices are compared to their percentile distribution for given age-specific category. The indices values being below 10th or higher than 90th percentile, initial osteopenia stage is to be diagnosed.
EFFECT: enabled early stage detection of mineral metabolism transformation; high accuracy of osteopenia diagnosis in normal calcium and phosphorus concentration cases.
