FIELD: machine parts, namely constructional members for sealing joining places of movable and stationary members of locking-adjusting fittings of main pipelines.
SUBSTANCE: sealing unit is placed in casing of pipeline fitting with possibility of engaging with its movable member and it includes cavity filled with medium transmitting pressure. Said cavity is in the form of fluid-tightly closed thin-wall tube. Viscous mater is used as pressure transmitting medium. Part of volume of fluid-tightly closed tube is filled with air. Invention provides enhanced operational reliability due to highly uniform action upon surface of locking member in condition of elevated temperature and pressure influence upon fitting without using additional sources of medium creating desired pressure in cavity of sealing unit.
EFFECT: enhanced design of sealing unit providing improved operational reliability of pipeline fitting.
