FIELD: electrical industry; methods of sealing of the graphitic bands used in production of the components of the solar cells.
SUBSTANCE: the invention may be used for manufacture of the impermeable for the silicon melt graphitic bands applied in electrical industry at production of the components of the solar cells. The band made out of the graphitic metal paper is heated up in the hermetic water-cooled chamber by passing of the electrical current through the section of the band transiting between two graphite electrodes and the pressing components at the temperature of 1800-2000°С and the pressure of 8-50 mmHg. On the surface of the band conduct decomposition of the hydrocarbon reactant. The invention allows to improve the quality of the sealing of the bands made out of the graphitic metal paper and simultaneously to reduce consumption of the electrical power.
